The paper explores what kind of knowing, judgement and human formation higher education should cultivate in the age of generative AI. It develops the concepts of World-Shaped AI and Place-Shaped AI through the ideas ofuniversitas, place, human dignity, subsidiarity and care for creation, while also addressing intermodal fluency, productive cognitive struggle and pedagogical innovation. The fact that the conference is hosted by Pázmány Péter Catholic University is particularly meaningful in this context, as the paper reflects on the university as a community oriented towards the whole, and on the relationship between technology, truth, responsibility and the common good.
